Topic: “Know-How” in Theory, “Affect” in Practice
This talk aims at focusing on a much-neglected aspect of teacher education: “Affect”. The talk will address the importance of feelings and emotions in teaching and teacher training as well as the results of the reciprocal relationship between teaching/training and student/trainee learning. The presentation ultimately aims to share the implications of affective attributes for ELT teachers, managers, and teacher educators from the perspectives of pre-service, in-service teacher training, and teacher/trainer recruitment.
